Today, our rapidly growing platform spans a China-focused equity hedge fund platform, a macro hedge fund seeding business, hedge fund advisory services, geopolitical research, and a fintech venture capital strategy. As part of our continued expansion in China, Clocktower Group has established its onshore subsidiary in ShanghaiDrobny (Shanghai) Investment Management Company. Through this entity, the firm serves as a key bridge connecting global clients with the Chinese hedge fund market.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented candidate based in Shanghai with strong technical skills, analytical ability, and a keen operational focus to join our team. As our Fund Operations Analyst/Associate, you will be central to our efforts as we expand and scale and will assist with all fund operations and daily firm operations for our Shanghai entity.
This is a full-time position based at our Shanghai office, working under the standard working-hours system in accordance with PRC labor regulations.
What youll do:
Hedge Fund Investing. Assist in conducting operational due diligence on hedge fund managers, leveraging your expertise, and collaborating with investors to provide best practices and insights.
Fund Launches. Support the operational aspects of launching new fund products by facilitating the onboarding of service providers, opening bank accounts, and coordinating with internal and external partners for seamless entity formation, setup, and comprehensive fund documentation.
Fund Accounting and Valuation. Ensure accurate and timely fund accounting and reporting through regular reconciliations, weekly and monthly shadow NAV calculations, annual audits/financials, and proficient handling of tax filings.
Fund Operations. Support the day-to-day operations of hedge funds and SMA products, including capital call execution, fund expense management, cash flow processing, and oversight of cash, positions, and market values. Assist with fund accounting, month-end and year-end close processes, annual audits, regulatory reporting, and coordination with administrators, auditors, brokers, and service providers. Provide operational support for China-based sub-advisors and contribute to process improvements and operational scalability.
Firm Operations. Manage firm operations for the Shanghai entity, including maintaining the company budget/accounting and related reporting.
Qualifications & Attributes:
Bachelors degree or higher in accounting, finance, financial engineering, or equivalent experience.
3+ years fund operations experience, familiar with the operation of a SMA platform is a plus.
Proficient in both written and verbal communication in Mandarin and English with good interpersonal skills.
Good team player of integrity, self-motivated and well organized.
Ability to work independently, be proactive, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA (or progress toward obtaining such qualifications) are preferred.
