What You'll Do
Build the site from zero
-Design and execute the US engineering hiring plan: org structure, headcount, team topology
-Define the technical charter for the US site—what problems we own, what we're accountable for
-Set the bar for engineering quality, velocity, and culture from day one
Own technical strategy
-Architect large-scale, high-availability systems that serve a global user base
-Lead cross-functional technical decisions across backend, infrastructure, data, and AI/ML
-Drive adoption of AI-native development practices across the team
Navigate compliance and regulatory complexity
-Build systems and processes that meet US data privacy requirements (CCPA, state-level regulations) and international standards (GDPR)
-Establish data governance practices for cross-border data flows between US and China teams
-Work proactively with Legal and Policy teams to stay ahead of evolving platform regulation
Bridge US and China
-Partner with engineering leadership in Beijing/Shanghai to align roadmaps, share context, and resolve dependencies across time zones
-Represent the US engineering perspective in product and company-level decisions
-Create feedback loops so the US team feels connected to the company mission, not siloed
任职要求：
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
5+ years of engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in engineering leadership managing 10+ person organizations
Proven track record building and scaling large-scale distributed systems (high-throughput, high-availability, globally distributed)
Hands-on experience with AI/ML systems in production—you understand the engineering challenges of LLM inference, model serving, feature platforms, or similar
Genuine fluency operating across US and China engineering cultures; bilingual (English + Mandarin) strongly preferred
Experience with US data privacy regulations and cross-border data compliance (CCPA, GDPR, data localization)
Strong plus:
Prior experience as a site lead at a US outpost of a global tech company
Background in consumer internet or content platforms at scale (social, media, e-commerce)
Track record of building diverse, inclusive engineering teams in the US market
Experience working with Trust & Safety, content moderation, or platform integrity systems
